Australia’s Gold Coast is situated in the south east corner of Queensland stretching through 57 kilometers of coastline and home at the moment to a population of half a million people. Welcoming nearly 12 million visitors every year, this region has developed into an innovative area full of possibilities and was host city for the Commonwealth Games in 2018. As such it is well placed to benefit from the $13.5 billion investment in its infrastructure. This opportunity has engaged the GC2018 partners in working together to ensure that the Gold Coast and Queensland will benefit from the wave of economic and social uplift that is made possible through this contribution. The changes to the city will be potentially long term, leaving a lasting legacy for the region.
